Here are some demos to try out LIBPF®:
Cogeneration demo
Combined Heat and Power plants
Electrolysis demo
Alkaline electrolysis for H₂ production
Gas Membranes demo
Gas purification processes based on gas membranes
Inorganic demo
Purification process based on multistage, counter-current acid washings
Pasteurization demo
Continuous pasteurization process for food fluids
The purpose of the polyols from biomass LIBPF® process model is to simulate the process for the conversion of biomass feedstocks to polyols of short-chain carbohydrates.
The process scheme is based on IPCI process type 3:
and US patent 6479713 (T A Werpy, J G Frye Jr., A H Zacher, D J Miller: Hydrogenolysis of 5-carbon sugars, sugar alcohols, and other methods and compositions for reactions involving hydrogen, Battelle Memorial Institute - 2001):
Have a look at the C++ source code, download the sample results in the form of the mass and energy balance table or download and play with the interactive model developed with LIBPF® 0.9:
The demo requirements are:
-
operating system: Window 7, 8, 8.1 or 10
-
Administrator access to the computer during installation
-
[optional] Excel 2016 or later for displaying the mass and energy balance table
-
[optional] OpenOffice 3.0 or later for displaying the mass and energy balance table
